Found on the shores of Lake Ontario, at the foot of Guildwood, on a hike with my class.
Hope it is indeed flotsam, and not jetsam.

Well, I do hope it is indeed a flotsam!

Well, I hope it's jetsam as flotsam usually originates from a wreck-- :)
Super pic--I love the detail and the texture of the sand...

@Brian: Jetsam - deliberately tossed - flotsom - accidentally jettisoned. Or at least, that's what my kids taught me. Thanks!
Cool shot!

It's amazing what we can find visually interesting... this is interesting and it's just an old, sandy soda can. Good eye and excellent capture Brian.

Great capture you have made!!! I only hope that it is not the can of Pepsi which I found and photographed in Spain... ;-) You can see it here: http://juant3.aminus3.com/image/2007-08-16.html.
And by the way, according to Wikipedia: Jetsam is what has been voluntarily cast into the sea (jettisoned) by the crew of a ship, while flotsam describes goods that are floating on the water without having been thrown in deliberately. So you should be proud of your kids!

You have truly turned the ordinary into extraordinary here, Walt! Good one! :)

Nice!! This would go great with my beer cap in the sand photo. Even the blues are pretty close to the same!
